Jeff Capel, Head Coach of the University of Pittsburgh Men's Basketball Team

University of Pittsburgh scored a huge win off the court today with William Jeffress Jr. committing to the program. That’s a win that Coach Capel needed this offseason.

Jeffress, who turns 17 this summer, is not just a talented player, but a young man with character. The kind of character that defines programs.

Jeffress is the cherry on top of Coach Capel’s 2020 recruiting class. According to 247Sports, with Jeffress signing, Pittsburgh now has the 13th ranked recruiting class in the country. 4th ranked recruiting class in The ACC.

Coach Capel has had a tough Spring. He lost two scholarship players, Murphy and McGowens, via the Transfer Portal. In trying to fill their sneakers, Coach Capel went 0-7 in the Transfer Portal. Ouch babe! So getting Jeffress to commit was a big time win. If Coach Capel can land 5-star recruit Adama Sonogo this Spring, for the 2021 class, Look Out Loretta!

As I written before, Coach Capel said he was going after the elite recruits. Jeffress and Hugley are elite signings. Not only elite in talent, but elite in character.
