The comeback falls short


Pitt loses at home, 59-56. But what a game. Panthers end on a 17-6 run, but it wasn't enough to seal the deal. They had their chances, as a missed free throw by Xavier Johnson could have put Pitt within one at 58-57, and then perhaps McGowens wouldn't have settled for a three the next time down the floor.

The world may never know. But this team fought hard today, and it resulted in a really fun game to watch, a near victory against a likely NCAA-tournament-bound Virginia Cavaliers basketball team.
