Brutal performance for Pitt. After getting back into it and narrowing the gap to just 50-41 with around eight minutes to go, Panthers were outscored 22-11 the rest of the way.

For Clemson, a hot day from beyond the arc was enough, as the Tigers shot 13 of 22 from deep. Al-Amir Dawes and Tevin Mack finished with 18 and 16 points, respectively, and Mack added nine rebounds and two steals.

For the Panthers, nobody was able to get it going offensively all day, and the only really decent offensive performance came from Au'Diese Toney, who finished with 10 points on 3 of 5 shooting. Champagnie, Johnson, and McGowens combined for 26 points on 5 of 29 shooting. Again, we see that when these three struggle, Pitt suffers.

Our player to watch in this one for Pitt was Terrell Brown, who finished with six points (3 of 7 shooting) and four rebounds in 21 minutes. A decent game from him, but you'd like to see him come out stronger against a team like Clemson after a really nice effort last weekend against Georgia Tech.

Losing this one probably ends any hope of an NCAA tournament berth for the Panthers this season, but the future is still bright. Panthers take the court next on Saturday against Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.
