Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall defensive tackle Connor Dintino arrived at Pitt’s prospect camp a year ago and quickly impressed the coaching staff his size and athleticism.  He was offered a scholarship after camp and committed to the Panthers shortly after.  On June 7th, Dintino’s teammate, 2015 safety prospect William Harris (6-foot-2 inches, 205 pounds), will camp at Pitt.

Harris has already received scholarship offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Syracuse and Old Dominion.  He’s capable of running a 4.5 forty-yard dash.  William has an impressive 30-inch vertical leap.  He has been a two year, two way starter for Choate Rosemary Hall primarily playing wide receiver and safety.  Pitt likes Harris at the safety position.

“I’m a versatile open field safety that can play in the box as well,” said Harris.  “I can dome down in the slot and lock up a wide receiver or lock up a tight end. “

Harris was asked what he was looking for in his ideal school and he stated, “Football is important but the school’s academic  profile is equally as important.  I want to major in business or economics.  A lot of my decision will come down to how I feel.  I want to get a gut feeling when I’m on campus and meet the team.  Right now, my eyes are wide open.”

Connor Dintino is set to officially join the Pitt football team on June 20th.  He has talked quite a bit to Harris about his school of choice.  “We talk almost every day.  He says a lot of great things about Pitt,” he said.  “Connor has told me about Pitt’s academics and the close relationship the coaches have with the coaches.  I’m looking forward to seeing the school in person.”

“I have played with Connor for two years.  He’s going to be a beast for Pitt,” said Harris.  “I’m really proud of him.  He’s always been one of the hardest working players on our team.  He’s sticks to a meal plan, works hard in the classroom and he lives in the weight room.  He’s really fast off the ball for his size and he understands leverage due to his wrestling background.   Expect big things from him.”

Harris’ primary contact has been Pitt defensive ends coach John Palermo.  DreamBackfield.com will follow up with William shortly after he attends Pitt’s prospect camp.
