2016 Quarterback Visits Pitt Again

Jacob Hallenbeck, of Kingswood Oxford (CT), has been to Pitt twice already. He visited once on the way home from a 7-on-7 with his mother and then his father wanted to visit so they swung by after visiting schools in the south. That being said, he decided to visit again Friday to check out a practice.

Dreambackfield.com has spoken with Hallenbeck previously and was eager to speak with him on regards to his visit. “It was good! Still loved the place.”

The 2016 Quarterback spent the day with Head Coach Paul Chryst and Graduate Assistant Jon Budmayr watching the four Quarterbacks; Chad Voytik, Trey Anderson, Adam Bertke and walk-on Joe Repishak, practice.

“I was watching the drills they do and trying to pick up on what the QB GA likes to see as well as what Coach Chryst likes to see. I loved the pace and how organized it was, everybody had a job to do at all times!”

In the previous story on Hallenbeck, he told us that his grandfather is a Pitt alum and that it family is very important. He said of his grandfather, “My grandfather and I are really close so whenever I talk to him about it I can sense the pride in his voice about the city and the university.”

“He told me that he would give me his class ring if I choose to go there and that would be really cool.”

Hallenbeck has only one offer right now and it is from North Carolina but Pitt is high up there on his list. He said, “I really like it there. I love the city, I love the coaches and it helps I have family roots there.”

Rutgers and North Carolina State are the other schools showing a great deal of interest in the 2016 Quarterback.

Pitt has yet to offer a scholarship to Hallenbeck and they told him first hand that he will have to attend a prospect camp to earn the offer.

He plans to visit again next summer and will try to make it to a game this season. “If not, I’ll go watch Pitt play at Boston College because it’s a lot closer.”
