Pitt recently completed the spring evaluation period and of the players receiving a scholarship offer is 2015 power forward Jarred Reuter (6-foot-8 inches, 240 pounds) of Brewster Academy (NH).

“(Pitt assistant coach) Bill Barton was at my school in the fall to watch me play.  Coach Barton and (Pitt head coach) Jamie Dixon have kept in touch,” stated Reuter.  “I got my first taste of Pittsburgh two weeks ago when I attended the Pittsburgh Jam Fest.”

“Coach Dixon and Coach Barton contacted my high school coach and told him I had a scholarship offer.  Coach Barton told him he was excited to continue recruiting me and he would come see me more in July.  They believe I’m a good fit for their program.”

Reuter has receives scholarship offers from Pitt, Florida, Indiana, Rutgers and St. John’s.  At a rock solid 240 lbs., he’s known for his physicality and energetic play on the court.  When asked to elaborate on his strengths at the ‘4’ spot, he stated, “I can rebound and score with my back to the basketball.  I’m a good passer as well.”

Although Jarred has a myriad of offers from top program, he currently states that he’s ‘wide open’.  He did comment on the Pitt Panther basketball program.  “I like that Pitt wins.  You know they are going to win every year.  They play in the ACC.  The ACC is one of the best conferences in the country, if not the best conference.  With the addition of Pitt and Syracuse, the league grew stronger.  I want to play against the best.”

Reuter, a member of the New England Playaz AAU program, has yet to set a visit date with Pitt.  “The offer is new and nothing is set in stone yet.  I would like to visit Pitt to learn more about the program,” he said.
