Pitt Rebounds In 66-59 Win Over Boston College

It wasn’t pretty again but the Pitt Panthers crashed the boards, capitalized on a few Eagles miscues and eeked out a 66-59 road win at Boston College tonight in Chestnut Hill, MA.

Pitt out-rebounded BC 33-18 which consisted of 20 defensive and 13 offensive boards and was able to overcome 17 turnovers, including 5 by its star Lamar Patterson.

Nonetheless, the Panthers were led senior center Talib Zanna (21 points on 7 for 10 from the field and 7 for 8 from the charity stripe), Lamar Patterson (16 points) and shooting guard Cam Wright (14 points) to break a 3-game losing streak.

Pitt (21-7 overall and 9-6 in the ACC) shot 78% (15 for 19) from the line and forced 11 BC turnovers.

The Eagles (7-21 overall and 3-12 in the ACC) were led by guard Olivier Hanlon (25 points), guard Patrick Heckmann (15 points) and forward Ryan Anderson (10 points) in a losing effort.
