Pitt Releases 2014 Football Schedule

Pitt released its 2014 football schedule and it features two nationally televised games.

On Friday, Sept 5, Pitt will travel to play Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA. That game will be shown on ESPN or ESPN2. The two former Big East rivals haven’t met since 2004 with Pitt holding a 16-13 overall series lead.

On Thursday, Oct 16, Virginia Tech visits Heinz Field to play Pitt on ESPN at 8pm EST. Virginia Tech won last season’s match-up 19-9 and leads the overall series against Pitt 8-5.

The non-conference slate includes Delaware (Aug 30), at Florida International (Sept. 13), Iowa (Sept 20) and Akron (Sept. 27).

The ACC home schedule for Pitt also includes Georgia Tech (Oct 25), Duke (Nov. 1) and long-time rival Syracuse (Nov 22).

Pitt will also play at Virginia (Oct 4), at North Carolina (Nov 15) and at Miami (Nov. 29) to round out its ACC road schedule.
