We are a little less than 2 months away from the most wonderful time of year. Yes, that includes Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, but it also means Bowl Season.

I know there are people out there that like to make jokes about a team only needing 6 wins to become bowl eligible and I just don’t get it.  But, that’s a different story for a different day.

I personally enjoy bowl season and wish that it would be more like “March Madness” for college basketball.  Yeah, you can’t have brackets outside of the 4 College Football Playoff teams. But, you can do a college football bowl pick ’em with your friends, co-workers, etc and that helps get you interested in all the bowl games.  The whole reason fantasy sports and march madness bracket challenges are big is because these types of games help keep fans engaged in games that they would not necessary be interested in.  And honestly, there are very few bowl games that are necessarily blowouts and most of the time they are entertaining because coaches love to pull out all the stops in these games.

So, to help get you ready for bowl season, each week until the end of the regular season I will do a “Late Night Takes” on the latest bowl eligible teams and teams that are eliminated from the postseason.
